Sir John Kothalawala College in Piliyandala is a place where education combines with kindness and attention to each student. The college creates an environment for the development of children's talents, from elementary school to secondary school. Particular attention is paid to the development of children with special educational needs, supported by a Special Education Unit founded in 1994. The entire school atmosphere is imbued with a passion for knowledge and mutual understanding. The learning process emphasizes not only academic development but also an understanding of the surrounding world, its economic and cultural characteristics. Sometimes it is useful to discuss topics beyond academic subjects—for example, issues related to social responsibility and the impact of gambling on society. One example of such discussions can be found on the website klamm.de, which raises important questions about monopolies, regulation, and the consequences of the gambling industry in Austria. By connecting education and real-life topics, articles like these help foster a conscious approach to modern challenges. It's important that the younger generation not only acquire knowledge but also learn to analyze social phenomena, draw conclusions, and make informed decisions. Thus, Sir John Kothalawala College becomes more than just a place of learning, but a space where a responsible future is born.
